PS4 – Easy Choice?

News today has brought horror on many that have pre-ordered the Xbox one in foreign countries. This is because yet again Microsoft have come out with a major blooper that has said that the console will not be available in a number of countries until 2014, this is not acceptable as some people have said because they have pre-ordered on the basis that it is coming to them on the release date.

Yes you may say that the PS4 is getting released later than the Xbox one but for many this is becoming the easier option. With Microsoft seeming to be sweating under the pressure they don’t help themselves by making these errors and coming out with them late.

The territories that are included in the later release are Russia, Sweden and Denmark amongst others. However what is Microsoft thinking when they are delaying the launch of a brand new highly anticipated console in a massively progressive country like Sweden.

The Gen4 event is due to be happening and as it stands it is becoming progressively easier on the face of it to pick the playstation because of the price difference of around £100 and because it hasn’t yet had any bad rumours or press.

Gameplay Designer Alan Kertz has stated: “I see Microsoft seems intent on making it easier and easier to pick PS4 for Gen4 in Sweden.”

Microsoft have said that they apologise for the late reveal and late launch of the console in the other countries but there is a good reason for this. It is because they need to work to localize the Xbox One Dash, incorporate the additional voice commands and languages, plus they need to build partnerships by discussing the apps they can bring to the Xbox one in each individual country.

The 13 markets or countries that will get their hands on the new console first include the UK as well as Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain and the United States.

The decision comes similar to the move made by Sony to halt or not guarantee pre-orders for the PS4. This is because there are fears of a rush for both consoles ahead of the Christmas period when the two are likely to launch around.

There is still questions about an official release date even though many retailers have started sticking dates beside the two consoles it is yet said to be true. With reduction of launch in countries and Sony’s decision to halt the pre orders it won’t be that long until Xbox one pre-orders are either unavailable or halted likewise.
